EV Charger Installation Case Study at Harvest@Woodlands

This case study highlights the logistical and technical challenges faced during the installation of EV chargers at Harvest@Woodlands, executed by KED Energy Pte Ltd. Several factors were considered in the project to ensure both driver convenience and safe infrastructure integration.

Feasibility Study: KED conducted an initial study to determine the best charger locations, balancing accessibility and visibility for EV drivers while also factoring in the complex requirements for electrical infrastructure and charger foundation. Safety and efficiency were the top priorities in this phase.

Road-Crossing and Planter Box Removal: A significant challenge involved crossing a driveway, which necessitated the removal of part of a planter box. Careful coordination was required to minimise disruption and ensure that the modification adhered to safety standards.

Concrete Casting over Grass Slope: Another challenge was laying the concrete plinth over a sloped grass area. This task demanded precise planning, balancing both structural integrity and minimal disruption to the surrounding environment. Collaboration between KED’s installation team and the property management was critical in overcoming this obstacle. 

Shelter for Drivers: An additional feature of this project was the installation of a shelter to protect drivers from the heat while charging their vehicles, improving the user experience.

Despite the challenges, the installation was completed within two months—a testament to the team’s expertise, planning, and ability to overcome site-specific issues without causing disruptions to traffic and business operations. This case demonstrates KED Energy’s ability to efficiently execute complex installations while maintaining high safety standards and minimising interruptions.
